Bob Copper BB. I just bought a new A5 Hunter and the first two shells misfired. They were Remmington Express Long Range shells. The next three shells fired but the firing pin barely put a dent in the primer. Next, I shot five Federal dove loads, no problem and the firing pin put normal dent in the primer.

Browning Auto 5 problems. I just picked up a 1950 Auto 5 that seems to have multiple problems. It won't eject fired shells and when you manually eject... the next shell feeds but the one in line afterwards dumps out the bottom. I was able to disassemble the gun and cleaned and oiled it well but it didn't help much.

Looking to get the new production Browning A5. Likely just the standard stalker model model in 3". I have plenty of gas guns and am looking to add an inertia gun to the collection. The instructions were clear. I had no installation problems, and the fit was the same as before. However, I would recommend looking for where the forearm is going to brush against the barrel as it recoils.As others have told you, the gun may be dirty, need lubrication, or have the friction pieces adjusted. Usually an Auto-5 with those problems will still cycle stout hunting loads. I have a gun that was only reliable with Federal ammunition-- until a friend noticed that the left extractor was broken. Make sure you fully compress the barrel into the action when tightening your magazine cap. It should be tight, if not you risk cracking the forearm. Last thing, don't try and take the gun any further apart.

Take out the firing pin retaining pin by punching it out right to left. Slide the firing pin out the back and the locking block through the top of the bolt.
