Currently it is showing over 550 homes in Big Canoe that are out. It looks like around 225+/- in the Wildcat area have been out since yesterday afternoon. Outage Update, 10:00 a.m., Jan. 9, 2024. Outage Update 3:00 p.m. Our crews continue to work diligently. We currently have 151 outages affecting 5,952 members across our service area. We are aware of at least two broken poles and expect this count to continue to rise. Flooded roads are also being reported across our service area.A power outage occurred early this morning in Pickens County, when a very large tree fell and brought down power lines resulting in three broken poles on Hopkins Lane, just off Hwy 53 East. Originally over 1300 members were affected, but crews were able to restore power to everyone quickly with the exception of the affected section of line.At a state meeting filled with heated discourse, supporters argued that California needed the power supply from Diablo Canyon to avert outages and meet the state's climate goals.
