Jun 20, 2023 · Your help in answering these 2 questions will help me make the current zone board choice between the HZ311 / HZ221 / HZ322. (Attached is a picture of the current MM-2 zone control board, and a screenshot of the HZ panel selection guide.)

It turns out my Honeywell 3-zone controller (HZ311) was flashing its green COOL light instead of holding steady ON, thus preventing delivery of the 24V ON signal to the contactor. One look at the HZ311 manual quickly revealed the answer. The controller thought the duct temperature was below 45F, falsely thinking the system was overcooled.HZ311 is furnace only heating. So no heat pumps, unless someone McGuyvere'd something to work. When HZ311 is calling for heat, if you check AC voltage between R & W on the equipment section, you should read 0VAC. That is when the heat light is on. If you get this reading, it's something in the furnace.To begin I have a home with a Honeywell HZ311 Controller, single stage heat and cooling. I have a Honeywell HZ311 zone controller. T-stats call for AC and equipment outputs do not do anything. If I wire direct, no problem. Seems like HZ311 ignores t-stat calls. I confirmed 28V power on HZ311 via independent transformer. I also confirmed that T-stats are correctly calling for cooling.
