The Sacred Garden of Maliko on Maui offers two labyrinths—a medieval 11–circuit labyrinth outdoors under the Kukui trees and a classical 7-circuit labyrinth in the greenhouse. The labyrinths are free to walk (donations gratefully accepted) and available during the nursery’s open hours. The Sacred Garden was created under “divine orders.”. I know, it sounds funny but it is the truth. In 2005, my husband Steve and I bought this beautiful property with a run down 10,000 sq ft greenhouse on it—an old orchid farm full of dead plants and live weeds. The roof was partially blown off, and it was dark literally and figuratively. We have driven by the Sacred Garden of Maliko hundreds of times and today we went in. Luckily there was one parking spot waiting for us. The garden is beautiful and filled with sacred, decorated places for Jesus, Buddha and Quan Yin.
