Wanted to show comparison between the new cvt oil and 40k cvt oil. left is new and right is old. truthfully, I believe it is best to change oil out every 30k after looking at the old oil. Cvt fluid change is expensive typically due to fluid cost, if you change the same subaru oe fluid, drain and flush 1 time may not cost that much. If you change brand, at least you need 2 drain and refill to change most fluid and can be quite costly. When i first checked the stick the oil level looked too high (even though i put 5L in) so i tried to take some out. I started my car and all the check engine lights came on.
